I’m in love with my brother’s ex-girlfriend.

After years of acting like Vesper Stone isn’t the girl of my dreams, I owe it to myself to be honest, even if the confession can only ever remain a secret.

There are so many reasons why I should forget about her. As the captain of the Seattle Rogues, I shouldn’t betray my only sibling, and I ought to honor the promise I made to our late mom to stand by him.

But my brother isn’t a good man, and I can’t take my eyes off the stunning bartender with sleek black hair and a smile that falters whenever she gets a text from the guy who never deserved her.

Reader Spotlight

Illustrated cover for Boarded Hearts by Ruth Stilling. Against a soft blue and pink skyline with petals drifting through the air, a brunette woman in jeans, white sneakers, and a teal scarf gazes up at a dark-haired young man in a backwards cap, hockey jersey, jeans, and sneakers. He lifts her chin while a backpack and hockey stick rest over his shoulder, and she holds a pink flower in one hand. The series name appears at the top, the title is in bright pink lettering, and the author’s name is at the bottom.

This book is now one of my favorite hockey romances!

It’s about Jon, a former playboy hockey player who’s now ready for something real, and Felicity, a single mom who’s fresh out of a divorce and not looking for love. Jon falls for Felicity first and harder, but their relationship grows slowly and sweetly as he patiently waits for her.

It’s adorable how Jon shows he’s done with his playboy ways and is completely smitten with Felicity from the start. Felicity didn’t make it easy for him, which made it even more fun to watch.

The book also does a great job of showing Jon’s struggles with anxiety, which adds a real and heartfelt touch. Both Jon and Felicity faced their own struggles, but the way they supported each other made the story even more touching.

Illustrated winter cover for Frozen Over by Ruth Stilling. On a moonlit outdoor ice rink, a red-haired woman in pink earmuffs, scarf, sweater, and skates stands in front of a smiling man in a dark coat, knit hat, yellow scarf, and black skates as he wraps his arms around her. Snowy trees, distant houses, mountains, and a starry blue sky fill the background. The series name appears at the top, the title is in cream lettering, and the author’s name is at the bottom.

I absolutely loved Zach and Luna both individually and as a couple.

I loved how Zach is this cinnamon roll hockey playter who is tattooed and pierced (it's always the ones you least expect). But what I loved most? Luna! Luna is such a different FMC. She's that quiet girl from school who was into space and astronomy. She's introverted and has been pining for Zach since high school but she never thought her crush on him would ever amount to anything. But fast forward years later when they are reunited for a summer while Zach recovers in the off season and our girl goes for what she wants! Luna showed no fear and pursued Zach, which was so nice to see.

Throughout this whole book, I couldn't stop smiling. It made my heart so full. It made me feel good. And honestly it's the exact story I wanted Zach to have. I am so happy that these two got the happy ever after they both deserve!

Illustrated cover for Total Shutdown by Ruth Stilling. In front of a row of city townhouses, a pink-haired woman in a black outfit sits on a black motorcycle facing a tattooed man in a backward cap, gray shirt, and dark pants. He stands close between her knees with one hand on her waist, while a hockey stick leans against the motorcycle. The series name appears at the top, the title is in dark green script, and the author’s name is at the bottom.

Ruth delivered another perfect hockey player that I’m obsessed with!

Total Shutdown is book 2 in the Blade Kings series. This story is about a hockey playing single dad who falls hard af for a witty biker chick that doesn’t do commitment.

Collins is a drifter, never stays in one place for too long, doesn’t have many friends and absolutely never catches feelings. She’s been through some things that scarred her. This poor girl has been on her own for too long. I wanted to squeeze her so tight and shake some sense into her.

Sawyer is the captain of his NHL team, a single dad & a widow. This man has been through some shit too and he is wayyy too sweet for his own good. I absolutely loved his character and how utterly obsessed he was with Collins from the start. Let me tell you the man was determined & I was here for it.
